Hello, my name is Amanda Joy Lathan. I am a Certified Massage Therapist and Level II Reiki Practioner. I received my training at Virginia School of Technology in Virginia Beach, VA from October 2001 through March 2002. In 2003 I opened my first spa in Virginia Beach, located upstairs from the Spine Group (which is a chiropractic clinic). In 2005 I opened a second location in the Hilton on 31st and Atlantic at the Virginia Beach Ocean Front. My staff and I performed massages in the spa room, guest rooms and near the roof-top outdoor pool. In 2008 I temporarily closed while I was in my home town, Seattle, WA for several months. When I returned to Virginia Beach in May 2009 I reopened at
The Healing Fountain, which has over 10 healers and a very holistic environment. In December 2013 I moved from The Healing Fountain to the Haygood Executive Park. I opened at my current location in July 2017.
By analyzing your health information and preferences from your client intake form I customize the massage to fit your individual needs. During each session moist heating pads are used on the back and neck to warm and relax tight muscles. This helps to relieve pain and allows me to penetrate deeper into the muscle tissue to help break up painful muscle adhesions. I use a combination of various techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point, acupressure, reflexology, energy work and a variety of stretching techniques. Aromatherapy is included and heated towels are used at the end of each session to soothe the skin and remove any excess oils. I schedule appointments to allow sufficient time in between sessions so you will not be rushed and I will be refreshed for each client.
